Based in Cambuslang Precinct, the new centre has a wide range of training and support facilities specifically geared towards local companies. These include:

• conference and meeting facilities
• training suites, including up-to-date cabling and hardware to support IT training
• a high quality commercial kitchen for catering trainers
• special needs training
• pre-vocational and vocational training programmes

Funding for the £1.5 million facility came from South Lanarkshire Council ( £711,036), Scottish Enterprise Lanarkshire (£200,000) and the European Regional Development Fund (£588, 964) through Strathclyde European Partnership.

The main aims of the new centre are simple. Through the providing these new facilittes, the partners envisage that:

• by offering training provision to the unemployed and supporting local small and medium sized businesses, new jobs will be created;
• by improving the look of the precinct, the local economy will benefit;
• by providing quality facilities, local businesses will be able to develop in areas such as staff training and new companies will be created.

Drew Campbell said "Word is getting out about just how good our facilities are. We have a number of companies who have already set up their office within the centre and many more are making use of our conference facilities."
